The advantage of such fan is that it is still able
to use a powerful electric motor to drive the fan
for better airflow. Clearance issue on a
conventional axial fan can only be solved by
reducing the electric motor's thickness. The
downside of such approach is the motor has
weaker power that means less airflow
expected to flow through the radiator.
S&S Tech is proud to present a brushless
version of Sidewinder. The electric fan has
been running on a pick-up truck for delivering
auto parts during a Southern California's hot
summer season. The engine environment
temperature is beyond S&S Tech's brushless
motor rating of 85 deg. C but it shows that the
product is capable of handling even higher
temperature.
For the purpose of better temperature
protection on S&S Tech's brushless controller.
S&S Tech is now planning a motor with
external controller so the controller can be
mounted at a cooler location.
