XFAN's Motor - Designed for the Future

All XFAN's products are based on its key technology - brushless motor. Brushless motor is a kind of motor that does not require brushes for its commutation. The commutation in a brushless motor is done electronically. In translation, this means the motor will have a very long life and very high efficiency. A typical brushed motor has efficiency of 50% to 60%. XFAN's brushless motor can reach to 90%!

Let's look at XFAN's 16" fan for example. This brushless fan draws 15 amps from an alternator. A brushed fan would have to draw about 30 amps in order to achieve the same air flow. Further more, XFAN's motor has current limiter which enables the motor to not go beyond 19 amps for its startup. In fact, the motor would gradually speed up to its maximum RPM and that process saves a lot of power! A conventional brushed fan would draw a spike of 60 amps of current for its "startup" if it is to draw 30 amps continuously. A spike current is not only power wasting but also would stress the electrical system of one's vehicle.
